Why is Split a Great Location for a Croatia Holidays Villa?
Split old town is a fabulous place to explore but don’t spend too long there! From your Croatia holidays villa, the national parks Plitvice Lakes and Krka Waterfalls are on your doorstep, so sightseeing-wise you’re spoiled for choice. You’re also at the gateway to the islands so hopping on a boat to explore is a must. This is the way to explore what Croatia is all about!
Stunning scenery and somewhere for everyone, head for the main little beach town of Okrug Gornji. Find great family beaches and inflatables in the sea, or get the best of both worlds at Slatine Bay. Slatine’s just 5 minutes drive from Trogir old town but more chilled out and near beautiful unspoilt beaches running to the end of Ciovo Island. Okrug and Slatine are both easy to reach with frequent water taxis from Trogir and Split old town.
Further up the coast is the pretty town of Marina with its bobbing boats and holiday atmosphere, or just a few minute’s drive from Marina, immerse yourself in the stunning scenery of Sevid. Of course you can also take an array of boat trips to Dalmatian Islands from Split and Trogir – venture to Hvar Island and the exciting Blue Caves of Vis… Split and Trogir area villas are in a great location to suit all interests and find family villas.

Palm Tree Villa
Palm Tree Villa – This is definitely one of our favourite villas to rent in Croatia – we love it. As beach villas in Croatia go, it’s got everything. It’s about 20 minutes’ transfer from Split airport, right on the sea edge. A gorgeous garden, Jacuzzi, pool plus kayaks and games room on the beach make this a great Croatia holidays villa. The shop’s within walking distance having a good selection of fresh food, bread, BBQ food, wine etc. You’re also within walking distance of café bars and restaurants. It’s a super multi-generation villa with things to do for everyone.
It’s also close to Trogir Old Town which is gorgeous. This is our favourite stretch of the island from Slatine Bay to Arbanija. The beaches are not so busy and with a water taxi connection on Arbanija beach to Trogir and Slatine to Split it’s the ideal location. There’s also a bus stop outside the shop. There is also beautiful coastline and beaches on the other side at Slatine Bay. Villa Francesca
Villa Francesca is another large family holiday villa in Croatia with pool. With 6 bedrooms, its popular for its decent sized pool, children’s playground and mix of bedrooms. It’s set between Trogir & Split a bit further back from the beach (900m) as it’s in a residential area, really nice and well equipped. The rooms are arranged to fit a mix of ages over three floors. With three double bedrooms, two twin rooms and a triple (double and a single) it gives flexibility for sleeping arrangements. There are five bathrooms also, as well as a gym & sauna area. Another very good villa for multi-generation groups.
Villa Marissa
Near the beach, this one’s for the discerning family traveller, as Croatian villas with pools go. Villa Marissa is an eye catching villa in Croatia with pool. It also gets very good reviews. With its roof top terrace and super sea views it’s a popular Split villa holiday choice. Particularly so given its vicinity to the popular, family friendly beaches of Okrug Gornji, and the Old Town of Trogir. It’s a super small family villa which also has a boat mooring available.
Villa Pearl
Villa Pearl is in an enviable position, tucked away close to the sea edge and beach. It has a fabulous promenade along the sea front featuring a section of restaurants and café bars. There are also water sports to try and this villa also has a boat mooring if you’re feeling nautical! As far as villas in Split Croatia go, this is good value. A traditional Croatia holidays villa.
Contemporary family villa Villa Lendra is only 200m from the main beach and beach bars of Okrug Gornji.It’s one of the nicer villas to rent in Croatia for families with older children who want a stylish base and to be near beach bars and restaurants in the area…
Villa Angela
Just a little way from the hustle and bustle of Okrug Gornji is 4 bedroom Villa Angela. It’s a newly built villa with sea views in Okrug Donji. Restaurant, shop and beach all within walking distance, and just a water taxi or bus ride away from stunning Trogir old town.
Villa Marina Beach
Villa Marina Beach has a lovely garden and BBQ with a little marina and town just a short walk, is close to the beach also. With superb views, it’s very nicely done, and Trogir and Split within easy striking distance.
