by Croatia Gems 24th February 2022

Have you heard about the Croatian Islands and were wondering where to go when you take a Brac villa rental? Visit Brac Island for some of the loveliest Croatian beaches. It’s just a 45 minute ferry hop from Split, which makes it a popular destination for both Split residents and Croatia Gems‘ customers, who return time & time again in one of our Brac island villas.

Beaches, Bays & Boats – Visit Brac Island for some of the loveliest Croatian Beaches

Often overshadowed publicity-wise by its more famous neighbour, Hvar Island, Brac is not only a larger island but a serious contender – it’s very comparable in beauty and activities, great beaches and accessibility – it has lively places and quiet places, off the beaten track places and bustling fishing villages with restaurants and views you will fall in love with – and as anyone who has had a holiday on Brac will tell you, it’s just idyllic…

If you like the crowds and some nightlife check out Bol Town with its famous beach Zlatni Rat (included on the list of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world).

For the rest of us, the quieter bays tick all the boxes with some stunning Croatia villas to stay in. There are Croatian family villas and luxury villas with pools – places to fall in love with and totally relax.

For instance lovely, peaceful Sumartin, is easily reachable from Split or for a shorter hop, also from Makarska –  A great place for messing about in boats. Take a picnic and find a deserted bay to spend the day (a lot of the prettiest coves are only accessible from the sea).

Pretty fishing villages like Milna with its new Marina, have some fabulous new restaurants, and a new swish beach club Olife has everything you need for a relaxing day away from your Croatia villa. Milna is also a favourite destination to stay as it is near Sutivan with its little zoo, glorious beach and sports facilities.

There are many other gorgeous bays and beaches to be discovered – take Lovrecina Cove for example – it has a great sandy beach and is also well known for it archaeological sites dating back to the 5th and 6th century. Parking is limited there so get there early or park in Postira and follow the coastal path.

Murvica Beach – is one of the most beautiful on the island and near to Bol Town, head there if Bol is too packed as the water is amazing.
