Brela is a pretty town on the Makarska Riviera which has beautiful beaches with calm, turquoise water, perfect for sunbathing and swimming. Brela is made up of several bays which scallop along the coast and there is a pretty path along the back of the beach which takes you all along the coastline. At one end it is more traditional and villagey with little coves and at the other end of Brela there are more larger hotels and the beaches are longer and there are more facilities for children – play area, pedalos etc . It is still very quaint and attractive though.
There are a good selection or restaurants and cafe’s along the sea edge which are open all day and throughout the evening – some of the beaches turn into chilled out cocktail beach bars in the evenings too which is very pleasant!
Most of the beaches are fringed with pine trees and so there are plenty of shady spots in the heat of the day. You can also park under the pine trees in one of the hotels car parks for a fee, or in a paid car park. Or you can park in Baska Voda and walk along the beach and beach path to Brela.
