MIDSUMMER SCENE FESTIVAL

Midsummer Scene Festival

Taking place between late June & early July ( dates to be confirmed for 2021 ), Shakespeare’s magical comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream comes to Dubrovnik in a collaboration of British and Croatian artists – usually performed at Fort Lovrjenac an open air arena at 9.30 each night – watch out for announcements of other plays and events showing at the Sponza palace and the Museum of Modern Art.

FESTIVAL OF ST BLAISE

Festival of St Blaise

1st – 9th February 2019: Dating back to the 15th Century, the Festival of St Blaise celebrates Dubrovnik’s Patron Saint – credited with saving the city from the Venetians by appearing in a vison to the town’s canon  The celebrations start with the ‘Kandelora’ Candle mass on the 2nd February – The banners of the parishes come together, the bells are rung, there are hymns and prayer , white doves are released as a symbol of freedom and peace.

Dubrovnik Walking Festival

The third Dubrovnik Walking Festival will take place from the 1st to 7th of October 2018 – The Festival is designed to display a different face of Dubrovnik – the one away from crowds, experiencing local flavours  and hidden paths, with walkers experiencing the sense of freedom, calmness and belonging to nature.
