KORCULA ISLAND, CROATIA ONE OF NEW YORK TIMES BEST PLACES TO GO IN 2016

The New York Times has named Korcula Island, Croatia as 17th on its list of 52 places to go in 2016! While it says that JayZ and Beyonce travelled to Hvar Island in 2011, it suggests that on Korcula you can get back to the countries roots and “Experience authentic life on the Dalmatian Coast”.  The article recommends getting off the beaten track and instead of just visiting the old town of Korcula, to explore the island and its local wineries. Indeed, Korcula does have terrific wine – Grk and Posip are to very fine wines that are a must-try if you’re in the area. Why not head to the winery in Cara Village, close to the pretty seaside bay of Zavalatica? There are also some stunning Croatia beaches on Korcula and vistas in this part of the world – you can see the surrounding islands and the Peljesac Penisula so you are surrounded by wonderful and dramatic scenery at every turn. The best bit is that Korcula hasn’t been over commercialised. It’s just as it always was. We’d certainly recommend it… Check out Przba, Zavalatica and Brna Bay
