Day of Posip on Korcula Island and Wine night in the Ston Old Town
Days of Posip on Korcula Island are from 28th July – 4th August 2018.
The island of Korcula, especially Smokvica and Cara, have a well-known tradition in wine growing and wine production dating from ancient Greek times. The 2500 year old piece of press is displayed in front of the Smokvica winery as well as the remains villa rustic in front of which are vast areas of grape vines is yet another testimony which proves that this tradition derived from those times.
Posip is among the most famous Croatian white wines. It is named after the authentic grape sort only found on the area of Smokvica and Cara. “Days of open wine cellars” gives You an opportunity to visit wineries and taste the wine.
Wine Night in the Ston Old Town, Peljesac 14th July 2018
For several years in a row on the Ston fortifications, the Tourist Board and the Municipality of Ston along with Peljesac winemakers organize the “Wine Night” on the fortress Kastio with the sound of Dalmatian music, seafood delicacies and premium Peljesac wines.
