September Croatia Villas – the same summer sun, beaches and vibe, but cheaper
by Saron Lease 18th August 2023
As the peak summer season is in full swing for villas in Croatia, it’s the perfect time to be thinking about booking a villa for September.
September’s still great for weather, perfect for sunbathing by the pool and alfresco dinners watching the glorious sunsets. After the high tempo school holiday period, the coast gets back to normal. A Croatian holiday therefore becomes a more chilled out affair!
The particularly nice thing about September holidays in Croatia is that you get to enjoy the coastline at its best. There is more space on the beach, at restaurants, the roads are less busy. But the sunshine is still lovely – not so searingly hot, but just right. The prices of September Croatia villas are also less expensive, especially towards the end of the month and into October. It’s the perfect place for a couples’ villa holiday, one with pre-school children or a Croatia villa with friends.
Sunshine-wise, the tourist season stretches to the end of October and the October half term week is a popular time to rent a villa in Croatia. Although the weather does become less predictable in October, the sunshine often rolls on into a fabulous Indian summer. Even winters are mild in Croatia – especially in the Mediterranean south Dalmatian locations of Dubrovnik and Split.
So, September continues much as August, minus the crowds. From October onwards we’d recommend staying on the mainland as the island folk tend to like to have their own holidays then and the choice of restaurants etc reduces. The large-centre mainland locations stay open though, so are a better bet for later in the season.
