Festival Sira (Cheese Fest)
21st – 2nd September 2019:
The Annual Cheese Festival takes place in the fairy tale surroundings of Svetvincenat, Istria every September. The best cheese makers in the region gather with cheese producers large & small to present their products to an appreciative audience – a nice selection of local wines is also on offer to complement the various cheeses. Croatian cheese is starting to get noticed all over Europe as it now wins so many prizes, with small farms realising they can maximise their milk product by producing their own artisan cheeses instead of selling to the big dairies, it’s a very fast growing market.
