Kravice Waterfalls
Travelling up from Dubrovnik to Mostar for a visit ?
A must see on the way are the Kravice Waterfalls – Stretching across 120m and tumbling down 25m to the crystal clear water of the Trebizat River . This is one of the largest waterfalls in Herzegovina and certainly the most beautiful one. The force of the waterfalls have gradually worn a natural pool at their base and it has fast become a favorite local swimming spot with picnic area, a camping area lovely little restaurant overlooking the falls with traditional Bosnian food & beer (very reasonable) .
By the falls there are screens for changing, another little cafe and toilets . You do have to pay an entrance fee to see the falls – this varies due to age and time of year.
check web site for prices www.kravica.ba
Tip – take water shoes there are rocks etc in the lake and its a steep climb down from the car park so allow plenty of time.
Visit in Spring to see it at it’s best when the waterfall is at its fullest and the colours of bright green meadows, trees and wild flowers lift the heart .
In summer the falls are less impressive as the water slows but on the flip side surrounding pools become shallow enough for swimming.
