Lapad Bay is part of Dubrovnik and is a popular area with tourists and locals alike. With its beautiful bay and good selection of cafés and restaurants along its promenade, it’s a relaxing holiday spot close to everything. The bay has plenty of beaches, bays and secluded swimming spots and the tip of the peninsula is the perfect place to watch the sunset over the Elafitti Islands! Check out the little hideaway coves in the rocks to sunbathe and swim from.

Lapad Beach has been appropriately named ‘Sunset Beach’ and true to its name, you can indeed watch superb sunsets from your sun lounger. Or take a bite to eat at the beach restaurant there and take it all in.

Lapad Bay is also perfect for those who prefer active holidays as its pedestrian areas are perfect for jogging or walking, while the centre of the bay also features clay tennis courts! It has a lovely pedestrianised street leading down to the sea with cafes and restaurants so it’s not short on places to relax. Indeed, it’s nice for children too with play parks and no cars.

It’s a short 10 minute drive to Dubrovnik Old Town so this is a good location if you want to be in a convivial location but close to the main sights too. In the other direction you have Gruz Port from where you can hop on a local ferry to the nearby islands. Gruz is Dubrovnik downtown so it’s also the commercial centre of the area. Consequently, there are more cafes, bars and restaurants, plus most of the supermarkets and shops you could need or want.

On the other side of the bay is the Babin Kuk Peninsula which has more beaches and hotels. Check out Copacabana Beach and Coral Beach, both on Babin Kuk.
