With reports of a new celebrity guest arriving for a holiday in Croatia almost every day, it’s not hard to see that the allure of the pristine Adriatic coast. Its appeal is ever stronger at the higher end of the market. Indeed the Croatian luxury villa market is quietly booming. With so many miles of coastline and hidden bays, it’s the perfect place to meld into the background. On a Croatian holiday, once can become anonymous and relax without interference.

VIP Location

It is true to say that the locals in Croatia generally are not phased by a famous face It’s a very laid back, paparazzi-free environment for a well known person to escape to. Even the high profile Beckham family have found relaxation and freedom on their holidays to Croatia. So much so that they have returned to the same place the last couple of years.

Easy to Reach

With so much pristine coastline and so many islands, Croatia is ideal for an easy escape. Firstly, it’s so close to the rest of Europe that you’ll arrive in no time at all. Whether you head to a private luxury villa or an island (or both), you can get there quickly. Once you’re at your destination, most places in Croatia are quite small, have a pleasant ambiance, and are very authentic. As such, they are nice to meander around in and not too busy.

Beautiful Locations

The warm sunshine, the super-clean clear sea, cicadas and olive groves are a balm to the soul. Whether you stay put and relax, or get out and explore, the surroundings are phenomenal. Idyllic and interesting places to take a speed boat to, abound. Indeed, there are wonderful, easy access yet exclusive bays and restaurants to yacht into. Fantastic authentic experiences await you – at your villa, immerse yourself in delicious domestic cooking and ingredients. A private chef of the key to wonderful Croatian cuisine. Turquoise seas and vineyards, marinas and pretty little towns are a beautiful backdrop. Explore by boat or take a private tour. Whilst being a modern European country, Croatia has somewhat stopped in time and has retained the charm of the past. And the natural environment, as you will surely have heard, has a pristine quality, reminiscent of a Monet painting.

As far as a luxury Croatia holiday goes, the level of service is generally superb in Croatia. That, along with the quality of cuisine and restaurants available in Croatia makes it a hugely viable location. Croatia now has a good range of Michelin star restaurants along with many other superb restaurants recommended in the guide. Of course, there are some really special places which are not Michelin guide recommended, or otherwise, but which just have wonderful locations and atmosphere – and of course superb cuisine. Simplicity and authenticity are the key in these eateries. BOWA for example on Sipan Island – fresh fish, great wine, private location.

If you prefer to stay at your villa, a private chef is a fine choice. Design your own menu or else have the chef suggest some ideas.

Villas with Location

Of course, Croatia has some villas with superb locations. Take Villa T, in Dubrovnik for example. With picture perfect views of the Old Town, the infinity pool couldn’t have a better outlook. A better location in Dubrovnik isn’t possible. Villas with pools, close to the old town itself are very rare and so this is a real find.

Yacht & Explore

Of course, to really disappear, a yacht is key. And luxury villas in Croatia with moorings offer the option of escaping to explore the idyllic Croatian coastline. Many head to the well publicised island of Hvar with its bohemian Pakleni archipelago and vibrant Hvar Town. But these are high profile destinations. For anonymity and escape head to Brac Island or Korcula Island for an authentic experience.
