“What a great time we had -our hosts gave us a great welcome and made sure that everything was ok throughout”

MLINI BAY APARTMENTS – MLINI BAY, DUBROVNIK RIVIERA

The pretty Mlini Bay Apartments are set in lush greenery on the hillside above Mlini Bay – a short walk through the beautiful evergreen trees takes you to a sandy beach, then wander along the promenade into the village with its cosy restaurants, taverns and cafe bars.

Mlini is a lovely location to spend a holiday! It is a fishing village with lovely old stone houses and mill streams set around its little harbour, with terracotta roofs and fishing boats. You could easily spend a week here relaxing and sipping local wine and making the most of what Mlini has to offer.  It isn’t necessary to hire a car as everything is on your doorstep!

There is a general store and a bakery across the street, and the large supermarket , a post office and a bank are 600-700 metres further on.  Mlini also benefits from boat trips which run to the lovely local Elaffiti Islands and also from water taxis which run to and from the old town of Dubrovnik from May to October. There are also regular bus service to Dubrovnik or Cavtat that stop close to the house.

The Mlini Bay Apartments have a great sea-facing location; the property faces downhill towards Mlini village, the Bay and the sea. The road access is to the rear of the property.
It features a beautiful garden, is close to the beach and bay in Mlini and has sea views from each apartment terrace.

“Hi Helen,

Yes, we have been home a week and had a great time at Mlini Bay thank you.

I meticulously prepared a ‘holiday pack’ of phone numbers, addresses, travel insurance details and car rental information to bring and then realised on the plane that I’d left it at home! However, I needn’t of worried because on arrival at Dubrovnik Airport, Tena was waiting for us with a big sign! Tena was welcoming and led us straight to our taxi.

On arrival at the apartment we were met by Tony (the landlord’s son) who was very helpful and informative. He showed us around and gave us accurate directions to the reasonably priced supermarket and beach. The apartment was clean and had all the expected amenities. The living room was a little smaller than I anticipated but we hardly spent any time there as we were out every day and evening. The landlord (I don’t recall his name) was also very accommodating. He gave me a free ride to collect my rental car on the Wednesday morning from the airport and he also presented us with a delicious flan made by his daughter. 😊

We ate out at a different restaurant every night, our favourite being Mlini Pizzeria overlooking the bay with live music.

The beach was lovely and lots of activities for the children. We also took a snorkelling trip one day, a day trip to Lokrum (which was beautiful) and of course a boat trip to Dubrovnik.

My only regret was hiring the car. I booked and paid for it beforehand but on collection they (Sixt) tried to persuade me to upgrade. I was also charged extra for GPS / Sat Nav. My fault for not reading the small print. As it turned out we hardly used the car because there was enough to do in Mlini and the weather was very hot (over 30 degrees) so didn’t fancy the trip to Bosnia in the end (which would have also incurred an additional car hire charge).

Overall, a fantastic holiday and I have already recommended Croatia Gems to friends and colleagues who are thinking of holidaying in Croatia next year. Thanks again.

 Kind Regards,

John” August 2019

“Hi Denise, we have just got back from our holiday in Croatia and what a great time we had, to be honest we were unsure of what to expect simply because we had never used you before or heard of anybody that had.
As soon as we got there it quickly became apparent what an organised company you run and would like to thank you for making things so simple, what a gem Anita is, she gave us a great welcome and made sure that everything was ok throughout the week, nothing was a problem for either her or her family, so thank you very much and hope to contact you again next year, we might be looking at the Pula area.”
