Multi-Generational Villa Holiday? Large Villas in Croatia to please all Ages!

by Croatia Gems 19th September 2022

If you want to gather your extended family together after being prevented from meaningful reunions by years of lockdowns and travel restrictions – a perfect solution would be to rent one of the large villas in Croatia!

But to ensure everyone is happy you need to choose a villa large enough and with the right bed configuration, and in a location to please all ages.

If you don’t already know, Croatia beaches are beautiful, spotless, millpond calm (non-tidal) and with a shallow incline. They are simply gorgeous for sea swimming, and to look at. Croatia is very child-centric, so an easy environment for parents. There’s also good food, excellent wines, chilled out lounge bars, cool cafes, upscale restaurants, and cosy wine bars. Kids and teenagers love the outside living and atmosphere. There are water’s edge bars and eateries, great beaches for children and many islands to explore with lots of car-free bays, giving something for everyone.

Croatia is great for all ages
Good for kids & teens:

In addition to the wonderful beaches and crystal-clear water, the plethora of high-profile TV and film locations means it’s not difficult to persuade teens as well. Game of Thrones, Robin Hood, Star Wars and many more films have used the amazing landscape and architecture as backdrops. Older teens can also have greater independence as there is enough going on to allow them some freedom. Dubrovnik Old Town or Trogir Old Town for example – small, pretty town centres with a handful of late bars, and close to villa locations. There are a host of water sports and land-based adventure parks available to keep everyone amused during the day.

Good for parents:

What’s not to like, with amazing food and wine, very safe atmosphere, gently shelving beaches with warm water for paddling with toddlers. Beaches also tend to have lots of shade under the pine trees, and are often small, so easy to keep everyone together. Croatians like to provide little play areas for their children, so a great draw for visitors’ children too. Small towns and villages are lovely family holiday destinations.

Good for grandparents:

The climate is lovely and warm, amazing food and wine, and it’s easy to have own independence but still be close by for meeting up with the family. There’s plenty to do, with interesting heritage and recent history, fantastic architecture, and a wealth of escorted excursions if that’s what is sought.
