Omis is an historic town famous for it’s legendary pirates and awesome gorge with the stunning river Cetina running through it and ancient fortresses built on it which once protected the town from invasion. You can hire a boat and go up the beautiful Cetina Gorge or try a spot of canyoning or rafting. At the top there are a couple of restaurants which serve barbecued meat and fish with salad and fresh barbecued bread, which they make at the restaurant.
There is a lovely fish market in Omis. Be sure to get there early (by about 8am there is usually still plenty of choice). There is also a market selling fruit, veg. and local produce. and also a good butchers. There are lots of bakeries in Omis too – lots of shops selling scrummy food. There is also a large supermarket if want to really stock up.
