Gromaca, near Orasac Bay
This farmhouse restaurant is a must for anyone into agro-tourism or who just wants to experience some really tasty local traditional Dalmatian food. At Konoba Laptalo, in the coutryside at Gromaca, just behind Orasac Bay, you can choose from a handful of dishes, each made to order (so you must book ahead). Try slow roasted pork and veal under the “Peka” or “Iron Bell” with potatoes and vegetables – delicous. There are an array of nice things to eat here from cured proscuitto, tasty cheese, olive oil, dried figs, candied ornge peel and a selection of naturally flavoured and home made grappas and liquours.
