It’s also just outside Dubrovnik Old Town which is the hub of the Dubrovnik Riviera, so here you are perfectly placed to have it all.

Mlini Bay is one of the best locations in the Dubrovnik area if you want an easy family holiday in Croatia. If you choose the right villa, you can make everything easy. Villa Anamaria is one of most versatile villas for a family holiday with a lovely garden area outside. The private pool is easily visible from the house, and terraces and the views out across the bay are sensational. Whether it’s kids time in the pool or wine time for the grown-ups in the evenings, the villa changes perfectly from day to night. The sunsets are spectacular and as the lights all come on along the coast below the villa, the atmosphere comes alive. Perfect for drinks by the pool and a BBQ!
Mlini bay has it all
If you’ve recuperated enough at the villa, it’s an easy walk down into the centre of Mlini Bay. You’ll find a lovely beach with sea edge eateries along the shore. And there’s Mlini Harbour from where you can hop onto the water taxi into Dubrovnik Old Town – by far the best way to see arrive at the Old Town! You can also visit Lokrum Island with its intriguing history or head out on an island excursion.
Beaches, restaurants and play areas
There’s a dive centre, a quirky Pirate Bar serving the best Mojito’s in the bay, and more restaurants and beaches as you walk around the bay. The bay is mostly car-free incidentally – there’s a little part which gives access to local residents but aside from that, you can wander peacefully around under the pine trees – it’s delightful. Hire kayaks, jet skis and pedalos – there are also little playgrounds with swings, roundabouts, and slides for little ones. And there’s a great tree trunk climbing frame under the trees for shade, and next to the beach. This is just great for imaginative play and hide and seek. It’s all really well placed to have a great time and to be easy.
The beaches are beautiful, turquoise and calm with shallow incline for children. There are a few coffee bars which turn a bit livelier in the evening for older youngsters. These are more to one side of the bay, close to the Sheraton hotel. Of course, it’s only a 10-minute cab ride into Dubrovnik Old Town. Here you’ll find plenty more bars and a couple of night clubs, including top rated Club Revelin. Perfect if you have that age group in the mix.
Your day planned out
Take it easy by going for a swim in the sea in the morning then lounging by the pool with the family. Maybe try out some water sports in the afternoon or take a book to the beach!
