This delightful stone villa with pool renovated in 2014 is a now a private semi detached walled property with 4 en-suite bedrooms, a lovely mature garden and pool. A new playground area is sure to keep the children happy while you prepare wonderful local produce on the new stone BBQ.
Description
Villa Catherine is a delightful stone villa with pool not far from lovely Rovinj. This is an excellent location for families keen to explore Istria as its within easy reach of the coast and also the mountain villages like Motovan, famous for its film festival, and lovely Pazin just 5m away with its castle and food fair (1st Tuesday each month).
The villa has four bedrooms all en-suite, and downstairs it’s all open plan with a lovely kitchen dining area and comfortable seating area . There are 4 air conditioning units around the house , however the thick stone walls tend to keep the temperature down even on the hottest days .
Outside there are large gardens all enclosed by a high stone wall , a new playground for the children is a welcome addition as well as the pool and covered outside seating area for when it gets too hot. The coast is just 10.8 miles away at Rabac with lovely Girandella beach approx. 12 miles away. Or near Pazin is Zarecki Krov a big lake with a waterfall very popular with locals – wear sturdy shoes its a bit of a rough trek but worth it so preety and great to jump in off the rocks ! take a picnic!
When you tire of the BBQ, just down the road at Zminj is the delightful Konoba Puli Pineta reasonably priced but exceptional cooking from grilled cheese to truffle pasta. Or we like Peparone in Pazin too for burgers pizzas ribs etc. To be honest this area is so ‘foody’ you will be spoiled for choice – you have the coastal sea food restaurants and the agritourism of the mountains with delicious organic meat & vegetables – and also it’s an area that has an abundance of wild mushrooms , truffles and game not to mention world famous wines .
For excitement head to Pazin to see the famous caves and try the new hair raising zip line Pazinska Jama. The location is fabulous – also easy to reach are Rovinj (17m) Porec (19m) Trieste (Italy) 37m and Slovenia (30m). Also if you like to be active Glavani Park is a short drive away at Barban with absailing climbing animal park and even a human slingshot ! Loads of mountain bike trails also to explore.
When you have expended enough energy, just return to this delightful stone villa with pool , open a bottle of local wine and chill out on the terrace as the sun sets .
