Villa Donatela is a stunning gated property with pool set on a huge estate, only 5km from the coast. It is so refreshing to find a property with loads of history that hasn’t been renovated into something ultra modern. The renovation on this is sympathetic to the area and to the house. It is delightful, with 5 spacious bedrooms, all en-suite and air conditioned, not one but two sitting rooms, both with LCD TVs. It has a well equipped kitchen and a huge dining area.
Outside there is an additional covered BBQ and dining area, a 9 x 4 m pool and even a children’s playground, all set in magnificent countryside.
Just 2 km away is a small Istrian village with restaurant, shops, doctor and bank etc.
The coast is reached within a 10 mins drive, and popular Novigrad is only 11km with loads of restaurants, shops and probably a festival of some sort, involving food or wine (usually both!). The food in this region is well known for its quality, and coupled with world class wines like Malvasia & Teran makes for memorable meals.
Walks are now organised at certain times of the year with ‘wine stops’ where you can try some local wine matched with some local foods and appreciate the beauty of the surrounding countryside.
