Villa in Croatia with pool? Spotlight on Mlini, Dubrovnik

Mlini is one of our favourite places on the Dubrovnik coastline and one of the best places to book a villa in Croatia with pool. It’s also a prime location to villa holiday. Only 10 minutes’ drive from the old town of Dubrovnik, yet it is a small and unspoilt pretty fishing village. Indeed, if you are looking Dubrovnik villas and for an authentic location, close everything, Mlini is a real find. One of the closest locations to the old town of Dubrovnik for Croatian villas for rent ,it is perfect for Croatia holidays. Additionally, it has some of the best transport links to the old town. We’d recommend Mlini because it is a peaceful haven, out of the hustle and bustle of the old town of Dubrovnik. But it’s close enough to pop in when you want. While away the days in Mlini in a villa and wander to the beach. Or, soak up the sun, chill out in a café bar in the shade.
There are food shops close by if you want to rustle up something for lunch and a good selection of local restaurants in Mlini. They serve food at breakfast, lunch and dinner so if you prefer to eat out and sample the local fare, you really don’t have to venture far. Of course you can easily pop to Dubrovnik old town for more restaurants and nightlife. This is a must do one evening as it is stunning!
Getting out and about
When you want to get out and about from your villa, you do have options if you don’t want to take the car. There is a regular water taxi (or boat line as it is called in Croatia). It goes from Mlini harbour (or from Srebreno at the other end of Mlini bay), up and down the coast. So you can go into Dubrovnik old town harbour in one direction or Plat or Cavtat in the other. Some of the water taxis also stop off at verdant, uninhabited Lokrum island, which is a lovely place to spend the day. There is also an excellent regular bus service that goes along the main road going from Dubrovnik and down into Cavtat. Plus ,of course, you have taxis available.
If you hanker to go further afield, why not head for Konavle which is often likened to Tuscany for its landscape features. It is fast becoming renowned for its “gastro-tourism” as this part of the coast boasts some of the best domestic restaurants in the area. Definitely worth a visit.
Or head up beyond Dubrovnik and find some divine bays by Orasac, for example Brsecine or Stikovice. Or perhaps head up onto the Peljesac peninsula and visit a vineyard for some wine tasting or try some local oysters near Ston.
