By Croatia Gems, 5th November 2022
A holiday to Trogir and the Split Riviera is a delight to the senses. There are so many things to see and do and so much coastline but the best thing is the variety. This area suits all ages and tastes…
Invigorate your senses with a villa to rent in Croatia on the Trogir Rivera
Trogir, with its winding streets, coffee shops, bars and superb local a-capella “Klappa” singers, makes it a haven for soaking up the atmosphere. For all your BBQ needs, there is a wonderful open air fruit and vegetable market local olive oil, a bustling local fish market and butcher. And if you want to get anywhere fast, hop on a water taxi to explore the fabulous coastline, bays and beaches. Whether it’s activity beaches for short attention spans (kayaks, para-sailing, jet-skiing, banana rides, tennis etc) or unspoilt, off the beaten track turquoise coves, the Trogir Riviera ticks all boxes… Croatia isn’t commercialised so our top tip is to ask the locals for what you are looking for and they will point you in the right direction. It is not always obvious but that’s the best bit! Explore and you shall find!
If you fancy a day trip or two, there are plenty of options with vibrant Split or stunning national parks like the Plitvice Lakes and Krka Waterfalls, and famous towns such as Dubrovnik and Mostar with its renowned and beautiful old bridge. Or if you like island hopping, why not take a small group excursion and speedboat to Hvar and Vis. Make sure you take an evening walking tour of Trogir before dinner to wind down and soak up the Roman and Venetian history and architecture. What a simply wonderful place…
