This colourful little villa with pool is tucked away by the sea in Banjole, far enough away from the restaurants to provide a peaceful base for a family, but close enough to wander down to the sea.
Description
Villa Yolanda is a lovely colourful little villa with pool just 300m from the sea and a small pebbly beach, just outside Pula. Banjol beach is 500m away, so about a 10 minutes stroll and popular Centinera Beach about 15 minutes walk. There aren’t many two bedroom villas with a pool, so this one, in such a great location is quite a find!
Banjole, a fishing village with a naturally protected port, was established in Roman times, and today has 700 residents. The settlement is located on a small peninsula where all lovers of the sea, sailing and fishing dream of living.
The residents of Banjole are closely tied to the sea. Nature has endowed this region with many small coves and peninsulas, as well as natural beaches, but for those seeking more activities there are tennis courts, hiking and bicycle paths, motor and sailboat rentals and other water sports.
The locals have always been turned towards the sea and fishing. For this reason, even today, Banjole has the best seafood restaurants. A well-known fact is that the best fish is prepared by fishermen themselves, but if you want to prepare seafood dishes then head to the small harbour at daybreak, wait for the fishermen to return from sea and buy the freshly caught fish!
For days out nearby Pula ( 3km ) has markets and shops enough to satisfy anyone . It can offer everything from a Segway tour of the old town to a lovely new Aquarium and Marina.
There are loads of beaches and loads of restaurants to try in this area. Aqua parks for the children can also be found on most of the beaches – head inland too for a change – the scenery is very like Tuscany with rolling hills , olive groves and vineyards. Here you will find wild truffles and mushrooms as well as local game, and of course award winning wines to surprise your taste buds. ( Croatia won 10 gold medals at the 2018 world decanter awards )
Also near to Banjol is bustling Medulin with it’s sandy beach and fair ground which comes alive every night, grab a taxi or bus in for a meal and a wander to soak in the atmosphere before you return to your colourful little villa with pool and peace & quiet.
Bike hire is also popular in this area – there are miles upon miles of cycle tracks, great way to explore the coast and tire out the children – why not stop for a simple lunch at a local konoba where the price of food will be very reasonable and the children love it as much is based on Italian food so lots of Pizza and Pasta and of course the ice cream, which is delicious and comes in so many flavours it’s hard to choose.
Or head for one of the activity parks – Park Glavani is a popular one , out in the middle of nowhere near Barban with some of the best high climbing ropes anywhere. If your kids like Go Ape this blows it out of the water as well as the high ropes – three different levels – they have giant swings – climbing walls – jumps they even have a human slingshot! Staff are extremely attentive and have very good safety training – take a picnic as they don’t have a restaurant though.
Perhaps take a trip across to Venice – ferries leave several times a day it does take around 4 hours but if you catch an early boat you could be there for lunch and then catch an early evening one back.

We liked it very much, the accommodation was nice, especially the pool was great. Nearby there is a nice little bathing place. To the beautiful bathing places (Premantura – Kamenjak) it was also not far by car, about 3-4 km. A supermarket for groceries is nearby. A successful holiday! June 2017
