Porec Beaches – Wonderful Blue Flag beaches.
Porec has some wonderful Blue Flag beaches. Set on a stunning coastline, 14 beaches have been awarded blue flag status which is a really high percentage . Most are pebble beaches so it is advised that you get some rubber sea shoes that you can wear in the water. Also as the water is so clean you do tend to get sea urchins especially around the larger rocky beaches.

Sveti Nikola Island, Valamar resort
Val Maro Family Beach is the only sandy beach on the island, which makes it an ideal choice for families. It is one of the best Valamar Resort beaches and has also been awarded the Blue Flag award. Sun loungers are free of charge to guests. Near the beach, you’ll find the Oliva Grill,which offers light meals, cocktails and drinks, as well as a children’s playground for the youngest members of your family.
Polidor Beach (Fontana)
This well equipped, pebble beach is located only 800 meters from the Camping Park Polidor, on the pathway that connects the town of Funtana and camp Bijela uvala. You can reach it by foot, bicycle, car or a free tourist train.
There is a beach bar with a covered patio, a wide variety of food, beverages and music. Deck-chairs and parasols, can be rented, sunbeds and beanbags are scattered all along the beach. On the beach there is volleyball and for their safety, children have a separate beach area. There’s also a special area for pets.
You will also find changing cubicles, showers and rental for all kinds of water sports from jet ski to motorboats.
The Materada North beach
Find this in St. Martin’s Bay in the northern part of Poreč, and can be accessed on foot, by bike or by a tourist train. It is a developed town beach popular with families with children.
The beach is equipped with sea access facilities and a sunbathing area, together with showers, changing cabins, sea access ramp for the disabled and a picnic area with a children’s playground.
A Blue Flag beach of fine pebble, concrete, grass and rocky surfaces, fringed by pine woodlands. It’s located to the south of the town and within easy walking distance along the promenade. Close by there is a choice of bars. Showers and shaded areas, facilities for the disabled, life-saving equipment, first aid, showers, phones, rental facilities, cafes, water sports centre, mini-golf, tennis and table-tennis, recycling collection point.
A promenade along the seashore leads to the beaches and bays of the Blue Lagoon, located 5 km south of Poreč centre. Water sports centre plus volleyball and water-polo facilities . Beach of fine stone with showers but not much shade. (Naturist zone )
Or when you have had enough of the beach head for the water park ! Porec has one of the largest in Istria and it’s great fun for kids and adults of all ages.
